Honoring Stamford’s Heroes

Welcome to Veterans Memorial Park, in the heart of the downtown commercial district in Stamford, Connecticut. In the past two decades, there have been several efforts to improve the park, but due to an aging infrastructure and new urban dynamics it remained underutilized and unappreciated.

In 2014 members of the Stamford community took the first steps to effect change and the renovation and revitalization process of the park began. In 2018, a public/private partnership was established between the City of Stamford and Stamford Veterans Park Partnership, Inc. and construction on the park started. In November 2019 the first of three phases of the park’s renovation was completed and celebrated on Veterans Day.

The Stamford Veterans Park Partnership, Inc. (SVPP) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that will help raise funds and collaborate with individuals and organizations to help preserve and publicly display memorials of veterans, educate the public regarding veteran history, support a safe and attractive hub for public gathering, and will help perform beautification and enhancement initiatives in Veterans Memorial Park.
